I have and always will be obsessed with clothes. I am forever browsing online or in person and spending hours wandering around shops selecting outfits like a real life polly pocket. Although UK summer is not particularly summering the same as normal, and by that I mean it feels like autumn come early, here are some summer trends I am really liking this year.
- Big Frilly Scrunchies
This one I ADORE. I think it is very rare to find a trend that is not only pretty but actually really practical. I’m definitely less of a fan of the slickback trend (fluffy hair girl for life) but for those that do these scrunchies can add a finishing touch to a slickback bun or pony. I love that we are moving back to having pretty hair like we did when we were children- I used to love pretty bobbles and clips and I think it is very wholesome that we are coming full circle.

- Gold Bangles
I have always mixed metals (sorry not sorry) but I am loving the trends of chunky, gold jewellery at the moment. I recently went to a crazy cute shop in Covent Garden and got some really pretty gold bangles there but one that’s definitely on my wishlist are the Bijoux De Mimi Amelia bangles- they’re so so pretty and I think they’re really fun and they have loads of options for the colour of the gems.

- Boxers and Bloomers
I think there’s something so fun about this trend. I love when we use everyday items to push the boundaries of fashion and I think this trend does it so well. Are you wearing pyjamas? Are you fresh off the runway? Who knows!? But that’s why it’s so fun and in my opinion looks so summery and relaxed.

- Charm Necklaces
I am seeing this everywhere and I am so for it. I love a trinket and a fun, unique piece of jewellery and charm necklaces are often individual to the person. Collect the charms yourself or go to a specialised jewellery shop and make one, but make it fun and make it your own! I am determined to make one this summer.

- Rara Skirts
As my Mum regularly likes to inform me these skirts were in fashion when she was my age, so they definitely aren’t new, but they’ve come back into the trending sphere and I am so glad they did. I like that they have a bit more intrigue to them than a mini skirt (not that i don’t love these as well) and I’m a big fan of a ruffle.

- Gingham
Whilst wearing gingham does make me feel like I’m wearing a school summer dress or going to a teddy bears picnic I think it’s a fun, interesting print and adds a pop of colour to your summer outfits. Pair this with your bangles and scrunchies and you’re good to go!

Have fun with the trends this summer, but make sure most importantly you wear what you like and what makes you happy! 🙂
