My Five Favourite Springtime Crafts

The sun is finally shining, the clocks have gone back and spring has at long last sprung! I thought for this sunshine filled post I would go back to my roots and get creative. Some newer readers may not know, but justjaslettering started off as a calligraphy account, which is still a passion of mine, and so I wanted to revisit some of my favourite spring time crafts 🙂

  1. Bead Embroidery

This is a newfound favourite of mine and as someone who already loved embroidery this is a Springtime staple. Adding beads to tops, bags, or even felt hair clips can add a pop of personalised fun and colour to an outfit.

2. Painting

I love painting all year round but especially in the warmer months when I can paint outside. I love painting postcards or scenery in the springtime and it’s a great time to get your paints out again.

3. Calligraphy

As I said earlier, calligraphy is something I really love and can be fun all year round but spring offers some great occasions to use it: Mothers Day, Easter, bank holidays etc…

4. Hair Wraps

This is a great activity that is so easy to do and looks so pretty. You can use any coloured embroidery thread and mix about three or four colours for such a simple but pretty result.

5. Flower pressing

This is one of those crafts that can be done using many different techniques but to get started really doesn’t require much effort at all. Pick your favourite springtime blooms, use a flower press or just a big book and simply wait for a great result!

Let me know if you try any of these crafts and any spring time crafts you like 🙂 Happy Spring!

Yours, justjaslettering xxx
