How To Still Spend Time Outside As a Uni Student With Deadlines

It’s that annoying time of year again, assignment season when the sun is shining and you want to do anything BUT the assignments. So, if you’re like me and trying to desperately manage more of a work life balance then here are some tips to still get outside and feed your soul to nature and not to the capitalist doom monster.

Do your readings outside

This is such an easy way to slot some time outside into your daily routine and still feel productive. It is so easy to deprioritise actions that don’t feel as “productive” like simply taking time for yourself outside, but by combining the two it can make uni reading seem a lot more fun and you can work on your tan.

Listen to your lectures as podcasts on a walk or run

I know a lot of people record lectures to go back to them later, and instead of sitting and listening to them doing nothing you could listen to them as you get out and move instead- killing two birds with one stone.

Set time limits on apps

This can be so helpful to stop doom scrolling and instead spend the time you would spend mindlessly scrolling through videos, outside!

Eat breakfast or lunch outside

Another easy way to incorporate some vitamin D into your routine. It’s so important to live for the fun moments not for work and so by adding in some calm to start or break up your day by eating outside you will notice you feel so much better!

walk short distances instead of driving

Not only is this good for the planet it’s also good for you and your mind. As we don’t see a whole lot of the sun in the Winter it’s important to make the most of it as Spring and Summer approach.

Let me know how you like to get outside in your day!
