The Pumpkin Spice Cafe and The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore

I got given these books last year and never got round to reading them but I am currently reading the third in the series now so thought I would write a review of the first two!

They may be a tad cheesy, but with a small town romance what else do you expect? I for one say bring on all the cheese! I also found they do have an engaging plot with characters you do care about.

I liked the pumpkin spice cafe, and found Jeanie and Logan to be wholesome and entertaining. They also were easy to warm to as they seemed real and believable people. I really liked all of the smaller characters like Hazel, Annie, Noah and the bookclub. This was especially fun as I knew lots of them were going to get their own book in the series. Whilst the ending was a tad cliche and predictable, it was heartwarming and fun and sometimes that’s all you want from a book.

As much as I enjoyed the pumpkin spice cafe, I loved the cinnamon bun bookstore even more because it was such a fun book. The treasure hunt and clues felt quite an original twist on a summer romance and was really fun and often funny to read. I also loved the characters Hazel and Noah so much. Overall I would definitely recommend the dream harbour series for an easy, escapist, wholesome read.

Let me know what you’re reading at the moment!
